🎵 My Musical Journey

🎼 A Lifetime in Music

Born with an ear for melody and a heart for harmony, Dimitrios began composing at a young age, mastering piano, guitar, and genres ranging from pop and classical to film and electronic music. By the age of 18, he was already composing professional music for radio and television ads.

He earned a degree in Music Theory with distinction, and his early compositions were soon featured on national Greek radio and television. In 1996, he participated in the prestigious Historical Song Festival of Greece with an original composition selected from hundreds of submissions.

A passion for innovation led him to advanced studies in Music Technology, Sound Synthesis, and Melodrama. At a remarkably young age, Dimitrios began teaching Music and Music Technology within Greece’s public education system. He served as a delegate and convener at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC 1997) and partnered with Columbia, Princeton, and Aristotle Universities on pioneering research in psychoacoustics, presented at InfoSystem 1998.

🌍 International Prestige

In 2001, Dimitrios reached a defining moment when he was selected as one of the final nine artists in Greece's Eurovision National Finals with his pop-rap anthem "Santorini". He wrote the music, lyrics, and production, and performed the track—a true feat of musical independence and vision. "Santorini" went on to become a smash hit in Greece.

Demonstrating his hitmaking ability, Dimitrios wrote, composed, and produced a CD for a rising pop singer that quickly became an instant success in Greece. The singer was invited to perform on all the major TV channels, appearing on their most popular shows, which helped solidify Dimitrios' reputation as a hitmaker capable of launching new talent.

In 2005, Dimitrios’ song “Kommatia Gia Sena,” for which he wrote the music and lyrics, received an award at the Thessaloniki Song Festival and was subsequently released through MINOS-EMI, later appearing on compilations featuring the best songs of the year and the decade.

From 2007 to 2008, Dimitrios served as the president of the jury for young vocal talents at a popular television music competition, where his expertise and mentorship helped shape emerging artists. This leadership role led to his appointment as CEO of the ChartsWorks record label until 2010, where he guided the careers of promising new talents.

In 2012, the Municipality of Thessaloniki commissioned Dimitrios to create an original composition for a children's choir. He composed the music, wrote lyrics, produced, arranged, and conducted the performance—a moving musical work promoting themes of love, peace, and hope. This civic project demonstrated both his artistic versatility and commitment to using music for social good.

He continued his Eurovision success with Switzerland's pre-selection (2013, 2015)—with his 2015 song reaching number 1 on Switzerland's national broadcaster chart for 14 consecutive days. In 2022, he was commissioned to produce a Eurovision song for a European celebrity.

On the world stage, Dimitrios has collaborated with musicians and singers from various countries, including Austria, Australia, the Balkans, Germany, Israel, Romania, and the USA.

His versatility also brought him success in other areas: he created an anthem celebrating Greece’s UEFA Euro 2004 victory, and crafted socially conscious works like "Humanity S.O.S." and "Drop by Drop."

🎬 Film, Theater & Beyond

In 2018, Dimitrios expanded his work into film and theatrical music, composing original music for two short films. For one of the films, he composed the complete original score, including an original song featured in the film, while also contributing to its screenplay and production.

That same year, he was commissioned to compose original music for a New York theatrical production. The production was later discontinued before completion.

In 2019, Dimitrios composed the original score for the documentary Earth and Water and also contributed to its screenplay and production. The documentary was subsequently submitted to the Festival de Cannes for consideration.

✨ A Voice for Today

Dimitrios' recent releases—"Dina (Anything Good Will Come)" (2020), "The Wheel Will Turn" (2021), "The End of the World" (2022), "Don't Panic" (2024), and "That’s What Friends Are For" featuring Deep Roy (2026)—highlight his ability to write and produce music that crosses genres while remaining centered on melody, storytelling, and human connection.

Whether composing, producing, orchestrating, performing, or mentoring, Dimitrios brings to every project a lifetime of musical devotion and a singular vision: to uplift, connect, and inspire through sound and lyrics.
